NZCB and ITM help Bay Of Islands Animal Rescue

When Bay of Islands Animal Rescue approached ITM and NZCB for a new transportable office and shelter, we were happy to get the tools out and lend a hand.

15 local NZCB members completed the new office in just nine hours, wrapping up at 6pm with a fully insulated and wired 6.4m x 3m structure ready for delivery.

Bay Of Islands Animal Rescue runs on a shoestring budget supported by volunteers and donations, so it was really satisfying to be able to give back to this worthy charity.

Project co-ordinator and ITM Sales Manager, Sean McNulty, said his family got involved with the Bay of Islands Animal Rescue last year as a short-term foster family and since then they have fostered around 30 rescue dogs and one kitten.

Sean added that there is a lot of compassion and generosity from the volunteers, as well as the non-stop dedication from Summer Johnson, who founded Bay of Islands Animal Rescue in 2016. Summer works in the community from her van to help neglected animals but also works with local families in need of support.

The guys were working non-stop from 8am through to 5.30pm, on the tools, resulting in the office and emergency shelter being ready to go by 6pm!

Bay of Islands Animal Rescue is a rescue and rehoming charity. They are a non-profit volunteer organisation that runs purely on donations and fundraising. For more information on how you can donate or become involved visit bayofislandsanimalrescue.org.nz.
